about

Introducing the Florida based artist, 20 Sevens to TT with their 5-track debut EP titled 'Here I am here I am here I am, so glad you are so glad you are so glad you are’.

Exploring themes of desire, longing, fear, distrust, and letting go, these sonic diaries are anchored by Kurt Vonnegut's "Sirens of Titan”. The music weaves together 20 Sevens’ internal questioning with the novel’s own themes of connection, purpose and acceptance.

‘Fantasies’ lowers you into 20 Seven’s hazy soundscapes conjuring up a reverberating dream state of noise. A fitting shoegazy prelude to the late night beats of ‘I can’t wait to look at the moon’, dripping in the melancholy of beautiful strings which naturally pull on the heart. An ascending glitchy melody makes its introductions in this track and returns throughout the release as a wave of rippling nostalgia.

Stabs of shimmering sounds echo throughout ‘Honest’. From traces of acoustic guitars, pitched bass to scattered vocals. These are all accompanied by a loosely trapped out beat citing artistic influences of R&B. The questioning in the lyricism assists the listener into a state of deeper introspection for the final 2 tracks of the release.

‘Leave me with the harmoniums’ is a lamenting duet over a skipping beat which opens up the rhythmic variety of the release. Melodic synth/ guitar lines effortlessly frame the voices in this bittersweet “lovesong”.

Warped piano distortions navigate the listener towards ‘Now it’s over, let it go’. An oscillating soundscape builds in climactic layers of far away noise and vocals, acting as the perfect closer to the deeply personal yet transferable introspection of 20 Sevens’ work.
